    The story is set in the 1970s in a small Thai village. Paitoon is in love with Yupin, whose father has a gambling problem. They were planning to get married, but Pov, his mother, did not like Yupin and would not accept their relationship because of her father. While Paitoon was a monk, Yupin was forced to marry Praiwan, Paitoon's brother, who suffered from cerebral palsy as a child.
